Learning characters equates to a sore wrist!

I have taken to writing out each new character one hundred times. This seems to make it stick in my memory. But at the rate of five characters a day, my wrists are fast becoming strained!

I began learning Swedish some two and a half years ago. At present, I would say "Jag kan lite svenska" (I speak a bit of Swedish). I am not very confident, mainly since I am not sure how to pronounce a lot of the words I know.

I started Mandarin a few days ago. Thus far, I have learnt about thirty characters.
